Song of the Day 60!!!

The big 6-0! Whoo! And boy, do I have a good one for you today. The song today is called "Keep An Open Mind" by the band Captain. I just found this recently and its a real gem. Be warned though, it is very, very catchy. You may also want to watch the video itself a few times to see how much stuff is going on in it. So sit back and enjoy!!!

Sieve the iron from my blood
And fashion it into a small nail
Bang into your head
For all of things I said
Now I don't have to try for cool
It's a long while now since we were at school
In every way
The nails will bear our names

Keep an open mind, I know you will
Keep it in time, I know you will
Give a little look to show you care
When you look around it's everywhere
I know what you mean to me
It took a long time just for me to see
My fever is receding
Now I have one thing to believe in

Tired shoulders, avoiding time
I've got your back if I know you've got mine
And we should have known
For all of the seeds we've sown
I'll feel broken if you'll do too
Now the earth is hard, but the seeds will push through
The race has been won
It ends with a starting gun

Keep an open mind, I know you will
Keep it in time, I know you will
Give a little look to show you care
When you look around it's everywhere
I know what you mean to me
It took a long time just for me to see
My fever is receding
Now I have one thing to believe in

Keep an open mind, I know you will
Keep it in time, I know you will
Give a little look to show you care
When you look around it's everywhere
I know what you mean to me
It took a long time just for me to see
My fever is receding
Now I have one thing to believe in

Flashback: SOTD 22!!!

Flashback to SOTD 22!!! The song is called "A Decade Under the Influence" by Taking Back Sunday. Enjoy!

Well, sad, small, sweet, so delicate.
It used to be this dying breed.
I've got a bad feeling about this,
I've got a bad feeling about this.

You kept still until the long drive home,
Slept safe and close to the window.
Well, I've got a bad feeling about this,
I've got a bad feeling about

Whose to say you'll have to go (I could go on)
Well, say you'll have to go (I could go on)
To hell with you and all your friends
To hell with you and all your friends, it's on

Well, sad, small, sure in porcelain.
You're skin and bones, I'm a nervous wreck.
Well, I've got a bad feeling about this (when it comes to this)
I've got a bad feeling about this.

Well, I got a bad feeling about this.
I got a bad feeling about.

Anyone will do tonight.
Close your eyes, just settle, settle.

Well I got a bad feeling about this,
I got a bad feeling about this.
I'm coming over but it never was enough,
I thought of you and my worst brings out the best in you.
And I got a bad feeling about this,
I got a bad feeling about this.

I got it bad.

Song of the Day 59!!!

I am not a rap person. There is a tiny fraction of hip hop I like, but besides that, I cant get into it. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis though, they have my rap heart. I like to shop Goodwill as most of my friends know. I dont go there cause I need to, I go there for the weird crap and odd finds. This song sums my love for Goodwill up nicely and packages it in a catchy beat. The song is called "Thrift Shop". Enjoy!

(Note from me: Im sure some of the lyrics are slightly off, but I cant change them. I am terrible at trying to decipher semi-fast lyrics)

What, what, what, what, what....

I’m gonna pop some tags
Only got 20 dollars in my pocket
I, I, I’m hunting, lookin’ for a come-up
This is fucking awesome.

Walk into the club like what up, I got a big cock
I’m so pumped, I bought some shit from a thrift shop
Ice in the fridge is so damn frosty,
The people like “damn, that’s a cold ass honkey”
Rollin’ in hella deep, headed to the mezzanine
Dressed in all pink, except my gator shoes, those are green.
Draped in a leopard mink girls standin’ next to me
Probably should have washed this, it smells like R. Kelly’s sheets
Pissssssssssssss.
But shit, it was 99 cents.

If I get caught in it, washin’ it,
‘Bout to go and get some compliments passin’ off in those moccasins
Someone else has been walkin’ in, but me and grungie fuckin’ ‘em
I am stuck in a closet and savin’ my money
And I’m hella happy, that’s a bargain, bitch.
Imma take it grandpa style, imma take it grandpa style,
No, for real I asked your grandpa, can I have his hand-me-downs?

The lords jump suit and some house slippers,
Doukie brown leather jacket that I found diggin’.
They had a broken keyboard, I bought a broken keyboard
I bought a ski blanket, then I bought an kneeboard.
Hello, hello, my ace man, my mello
John Wayne ain’t got nothing on my friends game,
Hello!
I can take some pro wings make ‘em cool, sell those
The sneaker heads will be like
“Ah he got the Velcro”

I’m gonna pop some tags
Only got 20 dollars in my pocket
I, I, I’m hunting, lookin’ for a come-up
This is fucking awesome.

What you know ‘bout rockin’ the wolf on your noggin
What you knowin’ about wearing a fur fox skin
I’m digging, I’m digging, I’m searching right through that luggage
One man’s trash, thats another man’s come-up.
Thanking grand dad, for donating that plaid button-up shirt
‘cause right now I’m up in here stuntin' I’m at the Goodwill, you can find me in the attic,
I’m not, I’m not, I’m not searching in that section.
Your grandma, your aunts, your momma, you mammy,
I’ll take those flannel zebra ‘jammies secondhand, I’ll rock that motherfucker.
They built an onesie with the socks on the motherfucker,
I hit the party and they stopped in that motherfucker.

They be like oh! That Gucci, that’s hella tight.
I’m like Yo! That’s 50 dollars for a t-shirt.
Limited edition, let’s do some simple editions,
50 dollars for a t-shirt, that’s just some ignorant bitch.
I call that getting swindled and perished
I call that getting strict by a business.
That shirt’s hella dope and that bliss,
I am one and six other people in this club is a hella dome.
Eat game, come take a look through my telescope
Trying to get girls with my brand, man, you hella won’t.
Man, you hella won’t.

I’m gonna pop some tags
Only got 20 dollars in my pocket
I, I, I’m hunting, looking for a come-up
This is fucking awesome.

I'll wear your grand dad’s clothes,
I’ll look incredible,
I’m in this big ass coat, from that thrift shop down the road.
I'll wear your grand dad’s clothes,
I’ll look incredible,
I’m in this big ass coat, from that thrift shop down the road.

I’m gonna pop some tags
Only got 20 dollars in my pocket
I, I, I’m hunting, looking for a come-up
This is fucking awesome.

Is that your grandmas coat?

Flashback: SOTD 21!!!

If you are new, I started this blog to keep things organized. I REALLY started doing this all the way back on MySpace (yes that long ago). So, every once in a while, I post the videos I posted only on my MySpace. This is SOTD 21! It's called "The First Day of my Life" by Bright Eyes. This is one of those songs that I put on my playlists to just lay and relax to. I hope you enjoy!

This is the first day of my life
I swear I was born right in the doorway
I went out in the rain suddenly everything changed
They're spreading blankets on the beach

Yours is the first face that I saw
I think I was blind before I met you
Now I don’t know where I am
I don’t know where I’ve been
But I know where I want to go

And so I thought I’d let you know
That these things take forever
I especially am slow
But I realize that I need you
And I wondered if I could come home

Remember the time you drove all night
Just to meet me in the morning
And I thought it was strange you said everything changed
You felt as if you'd just woke up
And you said “this is the first day of my life
I’m glad I didn’t die before I met you
But now I don’t care I could go anywhere with you
And I’d probably be happy”

So if you want to be with me
With these things there’s no telling
We just have to wait and see
But I’d rather be working for a paycheck
Than waiting to win the lottery
Besides maybe this time is different
I mean I really think you like me

Back....again. Song of the Day 58!!!

So, as some of you know, I stopped doing this blog because I wasn't getting feedback for it. Then I realized that I should do this for me and the random people who want to find some good music. I will try to do this as often as I can and to help me do that, I am finally allowing myself to use non-video video (live or just music). There have been many times that I wanted to put a song up, but there was no video for it or it was taken down. So that will help with the amount of posts. I will try to remind myself to mention it in the post opening. To bring it back, I am posting the latest video from one of my all time favorite bands, Motion City Soundtrack. The song is called "True Romance". Its the first video off of their new album "Go". I will let you enjoy the video. I cant really explain it, so I will leave you to it. Enjoy!

You better believe it's true
You know I do, I do
You better believe it's true
You know I do, I do

I'm a screw up of epic proportions
A walking hand grenade
Hyper-manic, a dime store dramatic
A conduit for pain
She said, "Don't speak, don't think
Just take it off, take it off"
I said, "Don't speak, don't blink
Just mess me up, mess me up"

You better believe it's true
You know I do, I do
You better believe it's true
You know I do, I do

Don't speak, don't think
Just take it off
I'm pathetic, overly apologetic
I'm a tightrope tragedy
You're Chicken Little, I'm the monkey in the middle
There is something wrong with me
She said, "Don't speak, don't think
Just take it off, take it off"
I said, "Don't speak, don't blink
Just mess me up, mess me up"

You better believe it's true
You know I do, I do
You better believe it's true
You know I do, I do
You better believe it's true
You know I do, I do
You better believe it's true
You know I do, I do

Humming a slightly varied tune
Opposite angles of the moon
Buried in layers of ourselves
Leaves room for no one else
I believe it's true
Cause nothing matters when I'm all wrapped up in you
I believe it's true
Cause nothing matters when I'm all wrapped up in you

You better believe it's true
You know I do, I do
You better believe it's true
You know I do, I do
You better believe it's true
You know I do, I do
You better believe it's true
You know I do, I do
