Song of the Day 42!!!

I know I havent put up a SOTD in a while. I have been uber busy, but here is a good one. In honor of The Beatles: Rock Band, which I have been waiting for for a year, here is a promo video for a song that will be on the track list. Its the LOVE remix which they made for the Cirque Du Soliel show. Its still awesome. The song is "Within You Without You/ Tomorrow Never Knows". Enjoy!

I know, I know. Its been a long time. Well, I have been busy. As you all know, I moved recently and I have been settling in. By the way, I am doing great! Anyway, this song of the day is by a band you probably have heard of called The Killers and the song and video I am showing this issue is "Spaceman". I heard this song was up for DLC on Rock Band 2 so I looked it up and became addicted. Not only is the song catchy, bit the video is weird as hell, which, if you keep up with the songs of the day, I enjoy. Without further ado, here ya go! Enjoy!

Song of the Day 40!!!

Sorry its been a while since I posted one of these, but you cant blame me. I moved to a whole other state! Anywho, this editions SOTD is by a previous artist, Architecture in Helsinki. The first time I posted them, it was for the song "Heart it Races". Well, they are coming out with a new album and released this video and song as the first single. Mind you, the video is a little strange as is the song, but I think you will enjoy it!

Song of the Day 39!!!

Todays song of the day is by a band you may or may not have heard of. I have been listening to them a few years. They were on the SXSW cicruit a few years back. I have loved the music ever since. With the wonderful mesh of all the instruments topped of by the wonderful singing voice(s). This is one of their most famous songs called "Lost Coastlines". The video is definitly unique and I hope you enjoy.





Packed and all eyes turned in, no one to see on the quay. No one waving for me just the shoreline receding. Ticket in my hand and thinking wish I didn't hand it in. Cause who said sailing is fine? leaving behind all the faces that I might replace if I tried on that long ride, looking deep inside but I don`t want to look so deep inside yet.

Sit down, sit down on the prow to wave bye, there might not be another stop, farther on the line. Look out, look out at each town that glides by, and there's another crowd, to drown in crying eyes. And see how that light you love now just won`t shine, there might just be another star, that`s high and far in some other sky.

We sing, is that marionette real enough yet to step off of that set and decide what her hands might be doing. Ruining the play and in the ensuing melee escape. We packed up all of our bags the ship's deck now sags from the weight of our tracks as we pace beneath flags black and battered rattling our swords in service of some feted, foreign lord.

And Jonathan says we sail out on order of him but we find that the maps he sent to us don't mention lost coastlines. Where nothing we've actually seen has been mapped or outlined and we don't recognize the names upon these signs.

And every night finds us rocking and rolling on waves wild and wide, well we have lost our way, nobody`s gonna say it outright. Just go la la la la la la la la la...

Song of the Day 38!!!

Ok, so this is the first song of the day of the New Year. Yay! This song of day is from a previous offender. Minus The Bear is one of my favorite bands. The harmonies of the guitars, the awesome bass line, the unbelievable drums and the eccentric keyboards and electronic sounds. They are all around a great band. This song is called "Knights" from their latest album "Planet of Ice". THe video is wonderfully done. I really hope you enjoy.

The name of the band, Leisure Alaska, may throw you off. They are actually from Denmark. They make awesome music and from what you will see, bewildering videos. Its intriguing. Warning: This song will get stuck in your head. The song is called "Hey There Mr.". Enjoy!

As a side note, I painstakingly had to listen and type the lyrics because you cant find them anywhere else. So, you better enjoy....or else.

Song of the Day 36!!!

I am so surprised I havent used this band as a song of the day. They are in my top 5 and have seen them live, which I recommend. This is a video they did themselves, probably while bored, called "Needlepoint" and the band is the ever wonderful Spinto Band. Enjoy.
